UNCW Volleyball looks to build upon last year's success

With graduation looming, they begin focusing on life after UNCW, but both plan on keeping the values they learned on and off the volleyball court.

Seahawk volleyball ends season in hard fought loss

Sometimes things do not always end the way you want them to—something the UNC Wilmington volleyball squad found out the hard way Sunday afternoon. The Seahawks' season ended after they lost in four sets to CAA-leading Northeastern University. UNCW lost to the Huskies 3-1 (25-12, 23-25, 25-23, 25-18).

Court chemistry

The first thing you notice about Leah Gagliardi is her height.

"When we did the physical I was 5'11"" Gagliardi says, laughing when asked how tall she is. "But I think I'm taller than that, because in volleyball I'm 6'1", ‘cause the shoes add about an inch."

UNCW volleyball season preview

Déjà vu is normally not a bad thing. Although strange, it's usually not associated with good or bad.

For the UNC Wilmington volleyball team, a case of déjà vu is awful. Last season, the Seahawks started the year dropping their first two matches, before rebounding to win the third.
