The incident occurred at approx. 2:26 P.M., Feb. 13. The victim reported that a vehicle tried to cut her off while traveling on Randall Parkway near South Kerr Ave. She responded by honking her horn. The vehicle then pulled alongside the victim's and the occupants threw objects and made obscene gestures towards the victim. When the vehicles arrived at the intersection of Randall Parkway and South College Road, the victim was in front of the other vehicle. While stopped at the stoplight one of the occupants exited the vehicle and walked up to the victim's vehicle. He pulled a handgun from his waistband and threatened her. The suspect then returned to the other vehicle.

When the stoplight turned green the victim drove onto campus. The suspect vehicle followed her. At the water tower the victim moved into the turn lane. The suspect vehicle continued going straight; the occupants made obscene gestures. The victim then changed lanes and followed the suspect vehicle to the parking lot that serves the main entrance of Wagoner Dining Hall (FF Lot). The victim called 911 and left the area.

Officers searched the immediate and surrounding areas, but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle or suspects.

The suspect vehicle was described as a white in color Pontiac Grand Am with temporary NC license plate 15990545. The car is reported to have a spoiler on it. At the time of the incident it was occupied by three black males. No further information is available regarding the suspects or vehicle.

The victim is not a UNCW student or employee.

No one was injured in the incident and no shots were fired.

Officers will continue high visibility patrols.

Anyone with information is asked to contact UNCW Police by calling 911 or anonymously 962-TIPS or by email from www.uncw.edu/police.

At approximately 9:30 P.M. on Feb. 13, UNCW Police initiated a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle as it was traveling on UNCW Property. The occupants of the vehicle admitted to being in the vehicle earlier today and exchanging words with another motorist. However, their version of what occurred was different than what was reported to the police department earlier.

Two individuals were trepassed from UNCW Property. No firearm was located.

Due to registration and insurance violations, the vehicle was towed from UNCW Property.
