The UNC Wilmington men's soccer team became the second Seahawk team in a week to come out on top of a Colonial Athletic Association tournament Sunday when they narrowly defeated Northeastern 1-0 at the UNCW soccer stadium. After an 11-point season-opening loss to Appalachian State, the UNCW men's basketball team was unable to bounce back as they lost their home opener to the Colonials of George Washington, 76-71. Trask Coliseum was electric as the pre-game atmosphere bustled with just over 3,000 fans who were Tealin' it; however, George Washington played with uncanny resiliency and patience as they hounded the Seahawks for the entire game.… Post the First Comment

The UNC Wilmington women's basketball team opened their 2009-10 season strong Sunday with a dominating 84-53 victory over Wofford University in Trask Coliseum. The UNCW women's soccer team won its first ever Colonial Athletic Association title with a narrow 1-0 victory over James Madison in Sunday's tournament final in Brookline, Mass.
