Stopping secondhand smoke

Currently, the rule at UNCW is that smokers must stay 25 feet from the entrance of buildings when smoking. However, some students feel as if this policy is often broken.

According to UNCW's Substance Abuse Prevention and Education Program, "CROSSROADS is dedicated to the advancement of thoughtful and healthy decision-making regarding the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for going green, but I can't see how competing over who can send the most recyclables to the plant has anything to do with the word reduce.

High schools and universities are always wielding the recycling race to promote better waste management.

Becoming increasingly active outside is often associated with warmer weather, and this trend is becoming more noticeable around Wilmington with its rising temperatures.

People are playing football and volleyball at the beach, running the Wrightsville Beach loop, or just going for a stroll around campus with earphones in their ears.

The University of North Carolina Wilmington is blessed with several outstanding sports programs that have demonstrated a great deal of success on the field. But the men's swimming and diving team is without a doubt the strongest program on campus.
UNCW ultimate frisbee teams enjoing success

When the words "college" and "frisbee" come together in the same sentence, a few images come to mind. Maybe it's a couple of buddies hanging out on campus, barefoot on a warm, sunny afternoon, lazily tossing a disc back and forth on the lawn. Or a group of friends baking in the sun on a hot summer day at the beach, throwing the disc back and forth before taking an occasional break to gulp down a cold drink or cool off in the waves.
