Bottega Art and Wine Gallery hosted Brett Harris, a singer and songwriter, for the third time on Saturday night. The gallery was full of fans, including One Tree Hill star Lee Norris, enjoying Harris' smooth melodies and romantic lyrics.

One of the owners of Bottega, Steve Gibbs, said, "Brett travels all over, he goes to LA." He then said, "He's a good guy, he's very talented."

Harris, from Durham, N.C., finished up his fifth and last show in Wilmington He played the guitar, keyboard, and a harmonica to accompany the songs from his new digital EP, "Side Two," and his first EP, "Yesterday's News."

After a few songs, Harris took a short break to enjoy conversation with friends and fans alike. After, he played the first track on his new EP titled, "Not Coming Back." He then played an untitled work in progress and said, "I hope you like it."

His new digital EP, "Side Two," was released Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008 and is available on iTunes and Napster and can be listened to at brettharrismusic.com. Harris said, "It's a collection of songs that I toured on for 10 months. They showcase a different energy than "Yesterday's News," because the album was recorded with a band instead of me playing each instrument.

Harris, who got his start in high school said, "I started by learning how to play other people's stuff until I figured out I could write my own stuff."

The first record he tried playing through was "What's the story morning glory," by Oasis. Harris also grew up with his mom playing The Beatles, and since has had an appreciation for classic pop.

"The people of Wilmington are great. Everybody seems so friendly and open to hearing new music. You don't find that everywhere," Harris said.
